Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is one of the most common causes of genital discomfort in women of reproductive age. It is associated with a significant negative impact on self-esteem, sexual relationship and quality of life.

Human microbiome research clearly showed a strong correlation between the loss of vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus and Lactobacilli-derived metabolites with preterm birth.

L. fermentum CS57 has been isolated from healthy vaginal environment, selected among 150 isolates has the best performing antimicrobial activity.

L. crispatus LCR6, L. gasseri LGS3 and L. jensenii LJ5 are the dominant lactobacilli present in the vaginal environment of healthy women. Their presence correlates with healthy and successful reproductive outcomes.
